Community Clean Up
Thu 14 Mar 2024Salam/ Hello, hope you are well and ramadhaan is going well.
Last week myself and Shamim Abbas (Environmental officer from the Council) were on Robinson St, and spent some time on the footpath behind the masjid and highlighted the need for the clean up. Not only was there shrubs that were over grown and not serving much purpose but litter, clothing items that had been dumped, and rats running around.
Shamim informed me yesterday, with the joyous news that the area has been cleaned up. The pictures are attached. We hope yourselves and those frequenting the area will have noticed that this has been done and make an effort to keep it tidy now the hard work has been done.
I will be sending out a message to the local area informing them , as soon as I receive the before pictures!
I personally was delighted with the fast turn around, thank you Shamim, especially with how busy the area gets during namaz times and with eid and summer on its way.
Hassan – thank you for raising the issue and providing suggestions, I massively appreciate it and we are still hoping post eid to hold a day where we can get the community together encourage the need to keep the area tidy.

Come and Keep Warm!

We will be hosting parents in the small hall from 2.00-3.00pm on:-
Monday 27th November
Monday 15th January
Monday 22nd January
The event will allow you to switch off your heating for an hour and come in to school to keep warm.
We will be serving cups of tea, coffee and there will even be biscuits!
Come along, chat to other parents and save money by switching your heating off for an hour.
Our courageous advocates (the Worship Wardens) will be hosting the event and have planned it for you.
Please come to the main office at 2.00pm.

Pop Uk
Mon 16 Sep 2019This year we learned, rehearsed and recorded seven new songs with Ellen from Pop Uk. We have built up a new repertoire of songs to sing during our Collective Worship and Singing Practices. These songs have great moral messages, words of encouragement and support. Some of them are quiet, some are more lively and others are fun to sing. It was an enjoyable experience.
Miss Patel said “A really enjoyable event and made me feel very enthusiastic about singing. The children joined in with all the songs, especially with the actions for the younger children which made them feel very involved.”
“It was very moving to hear the children singing with enthusiasm and watching both staff and parents participating during the concerts.” Mrs Young

School blessing by The Right Revd Philip North, Bishop of Burnley
Thu 05 Sep 2019Our school year got off to a wonderful start as Bishop Philip led our Collective Worship and shared God’s blessing with St. Stephen’s CE Primary School.
He shared an interactive story of Shadrach, Meshach and Abendigo in the flaming hot, furnace with children participating in different roles. The message from the story highlighted that whatever challenge you may face if you put your trust in God He will look after you.
It was a very special worship especially when Bishop Philip said a prayer over the water to make it ‘Holy Water’ which he then sprinkled with everywhere with a branch in order to bless our school and everyone in it.
