Quality Mark Award
Thu 19 Jul 2018Following our Basic Skills Assessment in July 2018 I am delighted to inform you that we were highly successful in achieving the Award. The assessor was extremely positive about the quality of teaching and learning and the way in which our children were able to talk about their learning. She also recognised the strong partnership we are developing with parents and how this contributes to our improving standards. We were also able to showcase how our text based curriculum and enrichment activities contributes to learning across the curriculum.

Bring a Parent to Lunch
Thu 26 Apr 2018This term we have invited the parents of EYFS, Yr1 and Yr2 to come and have lunch with their children. Below is some of the feedback we received from parents:

Book Week
Mon 26 Feb 2018We all dressed up as our favourite book characters to celebrate World Book Day. Throughout the day lots of book related activities took place across the school. We had story telling sessions, world book day token competition, sharing stories with our friends from different year groups and the launch of our Fantastic Book Award Challenge from the children in 5 Cedar.
The challenge was set by the children in year 5 and the aim was to read as many books as possible over the Easter holidays. We had lots of children participating in this mammoth challenge and several winners from both Key Stage 1 and 2. These children were the overall winners:

On the 16th March the Travelling Book Fair landed in school again for a week.Lots of children visited the fair and were treated to new and exciting books. The total amount of books purchased was £240.11 which will enable the school to purchase more books and resources for the children.

Rovers stars visit St Stephen's
Wed 26 Apr 2017Rovers duo Elliott Bennett and Danny Guthrie were the special guests at St Stephen's School in Blackburn on the EFL's Community Day of Action.
