Behaviour at St. Stephen's
All adults and children at St. Stephen's have been involved in developing behaviour at our school so we can further improve our already good behaviour.
Our approach promotes living out our vision to Respect, Aspire, Achieve with God in our hearts through our behaviour and attitude expectations, whilst treating each other with dignity, kindness and forgiveness. The decisions that we make at St. Stephen's when dealing with behaviours and attitudes are always rooted in kindness. We recognise that behaviour is a form of communicating; communicating need and stress. We take a graduated response to all presenting behaviours, ensuring responses are child centred.
We work closely with external agencies to seek advice and support for our pupils where needed to ensure that all children and adults at school feel safe and therefore ready to learn. We use Relational Approaches as well as ACE informed decisions to best support pupils, especially those who display complex behaviour needs.

Respect for All
Our Respect for All policy and charter supports staff in providing all pupils with a sense of safety and outlines our commitment to providing equality and inclusion for all of our pupils in line with our Christian ethos and values. Our Respect for All policy includes effective practices so that continuity and fairness is evident when dealing with any form of bullying or discriminatory behaviour in school. We aim to support both the target of bullying but also the perpetrator.
