Learning outside the classroom

Our school believes that a broad and balanced curriculum is vital. This includes ensuring that pupils experience activities outside the classroom. We are part of a vibrant community in which we encourage all classes to take part in; as well as inviting community members into our school. Our extensive school grounds provide rich opportunities that can engage all pupils effectively in understanding about sustainability and the environment. 
At St. Stephen’s we feel it is important to enable children to use the outside environment as a context for applying their knowledge throughout the year whatever the weather! Visits outside of school, including residential opportunities are built into our curriculum to enhance children's learning.
