Mental Health, Wellbeing & Support
We are reaching out to inform you of some fantastic training opportunities that are running over the next few months being offered by the IMO Charity that could be of great interest to some of your parents/carers.
• Active Maths Course (Working on simple Maths skills). This will be running until the end of November.
• Volunteering Academy (giving participants the essential skills needed for the workplace). They will be holding this at Blackburn College for the next few months.
• ESOL Course- this will be a continuous program that will be running from January onwards.
I would appreciate if you could share this information with the parents/carers at your school. All programs are with adults 19 + and they typically have between 10-15 participants in each session.
Thank you for your support.
Kindest RegardsNatalie

"With the winter break fast approaching, at Kooth Digital Health we appreciate there will be some young people who may struggle during the holidays without the access to the daily pastoral support, trusted adults and friends that the school community provides. Equally, seasonal illness and the closure of many services at this time of year can lead to extended wait times across both adult and young people's NHS and community services.
Kooth will remain open for children to access at any time over the winter period.
You're not alone - Kooth is still available to access during the Winter holiday period.
If you or someone you know needs extra mental wellbeing support during the holiday season, Kooth are here.

Good morning
As part of World Mental Health Day at the start of the week, our Mental Health Support Team (MHST) has created a short survey for parents. This will help us understand parent’s views on MHSTs and as a result improve our service to children and young people.
We would appreciate if you could share this survey link to parents in your schools and promote the link on your school website.

PAPYRUS have created a Self-Harm and suicide support guide for parents following discussions with parents who have experience of supporting a young person struggling with their mental health.
It aims to provide information and guidance to help parents cope with a young person who is struggling with thoughts of suicide, to reassure them they are not alone. It is available in both English and Welsh, link below and
